    Pool Update:

We are working hard to get the pool open for the week of hot temperatures ahead. The estimated opening date is next Friday, June 11th. The new pool house bathroom is functional! The final touches will be completed later this month. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for pool opening updates.

Congrats to the SHS Tennis Team!

We are delighted to see some familiar names top the Vermont individual and doubles state tournament this past weekend, with Skyler Graves grabbing the individual state title and Gabby Doehla and Kate Tilgner grabbing the doubles title. The doubles team of Bo Graves and Woody Reichelt ended the tournament as runners-up, now ranked 2nd in the state.

New Faces in the Pro Shop:

Please join me in welcoming Hayden Brown and Lillie Bertrand to the STC! Hayden is a tennis player from South Carolina (relocating to Vermont for the summer) and is pursuing a nursing degree. Lillie graduated from Stowe High School in 2018, played varsity tennis, and is now pursuing a degree in illustration. Say hello next time you pass through the pro shop.

    See you soon,

    Elle

    The Pro Shop is open.

We are open 8am to 6pm, answering your calls, taking your reservations and selling tennis merchandise. Please stop in, say hello, and welcome our new office staff.

    We Recycle and We Compost!

It's a new era, and the Stowe Tennis club now has both recycling and compost available.

Please recycle your used tennis balls in the green RecycleBalls cardboard bin,

...and recycle your ball cans, plastic, glass, aluminum, paper and cardboard in the cabinet on the porch.

You can find our compost pail in the kitchen.

And finally, please take your balls, recycling and trash with you when you leave the courts.

If you are the last member to leave at the end of the day, please shut off all lights and close all doors to the club house and put the cable across the parking lot on your way out.

Welcome to our first newsletter of the year! Read below for what's new, membership dues update, information on Junior Program registration and upcoming events.

Greetings from your club manager, Elle Anderson!

    What's New

There's already a flurry of activity at the club:

The office has a new sliding reception window for access to the porch and the deck has a new set of stairs. Construction is to start soon for the pool house bathroom. Mike Tasi and Brian Cardello have started prepping the courts. Lastly, a bit of interior reorganization so we're looking for some used furniture for the pro shop (a desk, shelves, and a cabinet) so let us know if you have something in mind!

    Membership Dues

Thank you all for making our annual dues collection a breeze...and for being flexible with the switch to the new online system. It was a pleasure to hear from those of you who reached out with questions or just to catch up. I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone at the club this summer.

    Junior Program & Swim Lessons

Please register on our website for the Junior Program, Future Stars, or High School Practice before April 15th. We have a stellar waitlist of non-members eager to participate in the program as space allows.

Also, signups for baby/parent and junior swim lessons are now open. Click below and scroll down to the bottom of the Junior Program page.

    Upcoming Events

Everyone would like to know when the courts will open! But first, we need your help at our annual Clean-Up Day on May 8th (rain date May 9th) starting at 10:00AM. There's a lot to do to get the club ready and the work goes fast with many hands.

We are 2/3rds of the way through annual membership dues. Late fees to go into effect starting April 1st.

Our new sliding reception window for the office is almost finished and currently being painted. We’re excited to test it out when the season starts!

The Junior Program is open fir sing-ups online and we’re recruiting new staff hires for the season.

    Stay tuned for more!

There is snow enough here in Stowe Vermont. The clubhouse and property is safely blanketed by untracked snow. There is a mystery package on the porch, but it turns out to be more RecycleBall boxes for the spring!

My first big mailing as your club manager has just gone out! I had so much fun designing the letter and picture card, as well as working with Gay Slesar to produce the letter. Coming to a mailbox near you!

The letter can also be viewed here on our website.
