Join us for the annual clean-up day to get the Stowe Tennis Club ready for business!
Tasks include hanging windscreens (bring your ladders), yard work (bring your rakes, tarps and maybe a leaf blower), gardening and weeding, cleaning up the clubhouse and bringing out furniture. The rain date has been changed to May 15th.
April came and went in a flurry of weather extremes. There was a moment when we thought the courts would be ready for play earlier than expected - but it was not to be so. We are now waiting patiently to see what the weather will do next (and hoping for the best!)
We have decided to change our Clean-Up event plans slightly so as to avoid a rain date on Mother's Day. Should May 8th arrive with miserable weather (as we've recently experienced), the date will move to the following Saturday, May 15th.
This year's spring cleaning will start with coffee and a sweet treat at or around 10am. Check in with staff at the new reception window to record your presence (for your free guest or ball machine pass) and then proceed to your desired clean-up task.
We have some special projects to announce: We will be spreading gravel on the parking lot (shovels and metal rakes recommended) and we have two painting projects in need of volunteers (paint supplies provided, suitable clothing encouraged).
As always, the usual tools for yard work, gardening, and windscreen installation are recommended (leaf rakes, tarps, gloves, shovels/trowels, ladders, etc.)
We are so excited to usher in more summer-like weather and to play tennis at the club!
