Reception, Pro shop & Member support

We're looking to add a staff person to our reception and pro shop at the club. This position has flexible scheduling with shifts of 3-5 hours per day, 10-20 hours a week, and at a starting pay of $16 per hour. When stationed at our reception window, this person serves as the welcoming presence to assist our members at the club. Duties include managing court and lesson reservations, answering the phone, processing payments, and facilitating retail operations for the pro shop. This person is also responsible for communicating weather events, court closures, and other schedule changes. During the busy summer days, the reception and pro shop are bustling with activity as members come and go to play, participate in the junior program, or use the pool. COVID safety measures including the use of masks, contactless payments, a sliding glass reception window, and limited indoor interactions. 

Court Maintenance

The daily maintenance and upkeep of our clay tennis courts are in need of your help! Best suited for the early risers, court maintenance is performed in the early morning before the members arrive, 7 days a week. Daily duties include rolling and brushing the courts (performed with a golf cart pulling the roller), sweeping the lines, checking net heights, and keeping the courts neat, clean and ready for play. At 15-20 hours a week, 7 days a week, pay starts at $18/hour and can increase based on experience and qualifications.

STC Internship

Calling all current students! The Stowe Tennis Club is seeking interns for the 2021 summer season. This paid internship offers hands-on experience and skill development over many different aspects of the club’s management and operations. Through a mix of mentoring, project-based learning and actual work experience, interns will gain transferrable skills and build resume content for future employment. This position is available for students up to 30 hours per week at $15.00/hour over the 10-week summer break. Additional work is available to motivated students in May, September and October before and after school hours.

Duties and responsibilities can include court maintenance, reception and retail in the pro shop, social media and member support, court condition reports, coordinating weekly round robin events, and lifeguarding for certified lifeguards. The internship covers a wide variety of work and can be customized based on the interests and qualifications of each intern.

Volunteer

You don't have to be on staff to make an impact the club. Motivated members are encouraged to volunteer and serve on a committee. Current committees and directors include:
